Terms of Service

1. Service Description

SearchX provides a search API platform for developers and AI agents. Our services include keyword search, semantic search, hybrid search, and MCP protocol access via REST API.

2. Account and API Access

Free tier access is available without registration. Paid tiers (Starter, Pro, Enterprise) require authentication via OAuth2 tokens. You are responsible for keeping your API credentials secure. Sharing credentials with unauthorized parties may result in account suspension.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the service for illegal purposes; (b) attempt to overload or disrupt the service; (c) resell API access without authorization; (d) scrape or redistribute search results in bulk without permission.

4. Rate Limits

Each subscription tier has defined rate limits. Exceeding these limits will result in HTTP 429 responses. Persistent abuse may lead to account suspension.

5. Payment and Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through our payment processor, Paddle. All prices are in USD. Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions.

6. Refund Policy

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for all paid plans. If you are not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. After 14 days, refunds are provided on a pro-rata basis for the unused portion of the current billing period. Free tier users are not eligible for refunds.

7. Service Availability

We aim for 99.9% uptime for Enterprise tier customers (SLA). For Free, Starter, and Pro tiers, we provide best-effort availability without guarantees. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance when possible.

8. Data and Privacy

Search queries may be logged for service improvement and analytics. We do not sell personal data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details on data collection and processing.

9. Limitation of Liability

SearchX is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users.
